Concordia University seeks applications for the full-time, exempt position of Content Marketing Strategist. This position is for bold, creative thinkers who are able to connect the dots between content development and lead generation. This position will support the Marketing department in the development of creative content marketing initiatives. Serving Concordia University Wisconsin, Concordia University Ann Arbor, as well as our regional centers and online presences, this role plays a new and critical part of our combined marketing strategy. This position is housed in Mequon, WI and reports directly to the Director of Marketing Strategy.


  • Dream up industry leading content marketing initiatives to increase both lead flow and return on investment
  • Serve as a main copywriter for marketing, writing: blogs, landing pages, and emails for use in campaigns
  • Collaborate with colleagues on innovative "freemium" content for use in generating leads
  • Work with Digital Marketing team to distribute content via paid channels
  • Work with web team to maximize content marketing features on our web properties
  • Alongside Design and Online Experience teams, develop media including: video, audio, and interactive pieces.
  • Alongside marketing leadership, develop and execute a "content first" SEO strategy
  • Working with strategist team, coordinate a cohesive content strategy across multiple schools
  • Measurement and optimization of content
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Creative, out of the box mindset
  • Proven history of using data to give the consumer valuable information
  • Ability to organize content calendars
  • An understanding of how content can generate leads
  • Extraordinary copywriting ability
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiarity with Hubspot platform and Inbound Marketing is preferred
  • Experience with video, both editing and filming is preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to occasionally travel and work on weekends
  • Passion for Concordia's mission

Education and Experience

An Associate's Degree (Bachelor's is preferred), and 2 years of experience in a content marketing, or related role.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position.  Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia health, disability and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and their eligible dependents. Tuition benefits are also available for employees and their qualified dependents.
