Concordia University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position of Director of Clinical Education in the Physician Assistant Studies program. This position reports to the Director of the Physician Assistant Department in the School of Health Professions and is located at the Ann Arbor, MI campus.

Responsibilities

Concordia University full-time faculty fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world via teaching, scholarship and service. The Physician Assistant Program Faculty, Director of Clinical Education position will involve teaching, evaluation, advisement, and mentoring of physician assistant students in classroom, clinical, and other settings. This position is responsible for coordinating, identifying, developing, and maintaining clinical sites for Physician Assistant student clinical rotations, and visitations of clinical sites. She/he will also oversee qualitative and quantitative evaluations of the preceptors and of the students. Concordia University faculty are active scholars in their academic disciplines and participate in the life of the university via curriculum development, academic program assessment, and other activities that support student recruitment, retention and engagement. All Concordia faculty are expected to demonstrate excellence in college-level teaching. 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies, with a minimum two years' full-time clinical experience required
  • An earned doctorate in Physician Assistant Studies or a related discipline preferred
  • Current certification and registration by NCCPA required
  • Current Michigan PA license or eligibility for license
  • Prior successful teaching experience in higher education is preferred

Compensation and Benefits 

This is a full-time, faculty, exempt position. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
