Concordia University invites applications for the new full-time faculty position of Program Director in the Department of Physical Therapy.  Concordia plans to establish a new Doctorate of Physical Therapy program on the Ann Arbor, MI campus and is seeking a qualified physical therapist to develop the program.  The Physical Therapy Department is housed in the School of Health Professions and this position reports to the Dean of the School of Health Professions.

Concordia seeks an individual who has a strong vision for physical therapy, higher education, and innovative education strategies to prepare physical therapists to meet the challenges of changing healthcare systems and collaborate with interprofessional teams.


  • Vision for the physical therapy department
  • Program development in accordance with CAPTE standards
  • Program assessment
  • Hiring and mentoring of faculty
  • Working with other CU departments to promote interprofessional education
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of and experience with CAPTE accreditation standards preferred
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching, administrative, and scholarship experience in an academic setting
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills

Required Education and Experience

  • Current licensure to practice physical therapy in any US jurisdiction, specifically Michigan
  • An earned academic/research doctorate degree required
  • Current rank of associate professor, professor, clinical associate professor, or clinical professor
  • A minimum of six years of full time higher education experience, with a minimum of three years of full-time experience in a physical therapist education program

Compensation and Benefits 

This is a full-time, faculty, exempt position. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Concordia health, disability, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and eligible dependents.
