Concordia University invites applicants for a full-time faculty position (rank to be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience) in the Department of Communication on the Ann Arbor, MI campus. The Department of Communication is housed in the School of Arts and Sciences. 

Concordia University full-time faculty fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world via teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in mass communication, including digital media, film, radio, and possibly public speaking and interpersonal communication
  • Engage in an active peer-reviewed research agenda;
  • Serve on university and school committees;
  • Mentor and oversee adjunct instructors; and
  • Complete other duties that align within the university and School of Arts and Sciences strategic priorities

Position Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in mass communication or a related field. Candidates who successfully complete their doctorate program by August 1, 2019 will also be considered.
  • Ideal candidate will also have demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching and show promise in the area of scholarship.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, faculty, exempt position. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.  Concordia health, disability, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and eligible dependents.  Tuition benefits are available for employees and their qualified dependents.
