Position Description

Concordia University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position in Occupational Therapy. This position reports to the Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Department in the School of Health Professions at the Ann Arbor, MI campus. The position is scheduled to begin full-time June 1, 2022, with availability for up to 19.5 hours/week for orientation/curriculum development beginning January 1, 2022. The position requires faculty to live in proximity to campus to allow on-site activities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Concordia University full-time faculty fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world via teaching, scholarship and service. The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in the Occupational Therapy Program related to their area(s) of practice, and will mentor students in the Occupational Therapy program. In addition, the position includes supervising students in the community, developing a scholarship agenda, participating in service activities, advising students, and maintaining currency in clinical practice. Concordia University faculty are active scholars in their academic disciplines and participate in the life of the university via curriculum development, academic program assessment, and other activities that support student recruitment, retention and engagement. All Concordia faculty are expected to demonstrate excellence in college-level teaching.

Education & Experience

  • Earned doctorate in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline; PhD or post-professional doctorate preferred. Candidates who are ABD may be considered.
  • Prior successful teaching experience in higher education is preferred with knowledge of both a blended content delivery method as well as online teaching methodologies.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice occupational therapy in Michigan.
  • Minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience.
  • Willingness and ability to perform peer reviewed scholarship/research.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with faculty in various healthcare disciplines within the School of Health Professions, as well as the campus at large.
