Concordia University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time BSW Field Coordinator position in the Department of Social Work at the Ann Arbor campus. The BSW Field Coordinator works closely with the students to process field applications to ensure that all necessary paperwork and approvals are completed before a student enters field placement. The BSW Field Coordinator reports to the Director of Field Education; works with students in identifying appropriate field placements; is responsible for managing students' field placement site and site supervisor selection with approval from the Director of Field Education; and, completes the administrative duties of the field placement office for the BSW program. The BSW Field Coordinator also collaborates with the Director of Field Education, which includes providing routine reporting and data collection. The BSW Field Coordinator has a 25% decreased teaching load; teaches 18 TCs per year (12 month appointment).

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The BSW Field Coordinator provides support in the following areas:

  • Managing and implementing the field application process
  • Responding to student questions about the field placement
  • Supporting students with recruiting new field agencies/organizations
  • Regularly updates the Field Manual based on accreditation standards
  • Coordinates appreciation events for field sites
  • Reviewing and approving with the Director of Field Education BSW student field applications each quarter
  • Serving as the designee of the Director of Field Education, as needed
  • Responding to students, site supervisors, and agency directors' questions about the field placement
  • Troubleshooting with the Director of Field Education, field instructors and liaisons student problems that emerge at field placement sites
  • Educating students, directors of sites, and site supervisors about field policies and expectations
  • Working with the Director of Field Education to facilitate orientations for students and site supervisors
  • Managing the field evaluation process for the BSW program
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Candidate must have an MSW from a CSWE accredited social work program
  • Minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience
  • Strong Christian commitment and the ability to integrate a biblical worldview with the practice of social work
