Position Description

The Online Learning Technology Support Analyst involves supporting the design and development of effective online learning and hybrid learning experiences, as well as supporting and maintaining educational technologies and is an online faculty and students technical support team member. The Online Learning Tech Support Analyst reports to the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator and works independently and collaboratively to fulfill the purpose of Extended Campus Operations and the Concordia University Mission. This is a full-time, exempt position, located on the Mequon Campus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely resolution of technology support needs for online students and faculty
  • Front line responder to online student and faculty requests needing online learning technical support
  • Collaborate with instructional designers assisting with media support and other various remote learning technology
  • Track support issues electronically, monitor for patterns, and provide support trends
  • Respond to servers being down in a timely manner
  • Manage server applications with regards to the needs of the ECO office
  • Collaborate with IT counterparts to cross train support staff for better support to the Concordia Community as well
  • as provide support for university common systems
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to work some evenings and weekends as required
  • Able to effectively manage projects that involve diverse individuals who may be local or at a distance
  • Broad understanding of integration of technology into an academic curriculum and 21st century learning
  • Broad knowledge with various operating systems, and hardware and software
  • Open to enhancing IT skills through various certifications to support the needs of the extended campus office
  • Familiarity with common web-based technologies and troubleshooting web-based applications
  • Commitment to continual personal growth related to current and emerging Online Learning technologies, as well as best practices in helpdesk support and customer service
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong customer service skills
  • Able to effectively manage diverse and multiple projects at the same time. Excellent time management skills. Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast paced, office environment

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study required
  • Experience with IT helpdesk support preferred
  • Experience in higher education support preferred
  • Experience with LMS systems preferred (Blackboard and/or Destiny)
  • Demonstrated commitment to the University mission and core values
