Concordia University seeks applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Strength and Conditioning Coach/Athletic Facility Manager. The purpose of this position is to fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body and spirit by instructing student athletes, equipping them with strategies and techniques to help them realize success in athletics, academics and social experiences.  This position is located on the Ann Arbor, MI campus and reports to the Director of Athletics.


  • Schedule strength and conditioning workouts in cooperation with the head coach of each specific sport
  • Set up the schedule of strength and conditioning workouts for each sports team
  • Be present and punctual for all workouts with student athletes
  • Provide athletes with guidance and proper training techniques for free weights and other strength training equipment
  • Provide expertise in the area of strength (weight) training and physical conditioning as requested by the head coaches
  • Maintain the athletic weight room and keep records of all equipment in the weight room
  • Update the Athletic Director on equipment needs and/or upgrades
  • Maintain up-to-date records on the strength program of each team and specific individual workouts
  • Return all phone calls and emails to head coaches and administrative staff promptly
  • Responsible for assisting the Athletic Director in the operation of all CUAA athletic facilities
  • Work closely with all coaches and college personnel to manage and maintain all facilities
  • Staff and monitor all athletic facility student workers
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational abilities, professional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
  • Knowledge in the trends of the respective sport
  • Available evenings and weekends

Education and/or Training

A bachelor's degree in related field is required, master's preferred. Minimum of five years' experience preferred: college coaching preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position. Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
