Concordia University invites applications for the part-time, 12-month position of Administrative Assistant Concordia Center for the Family (CCF). This position will have the primary responsibility of acting as a contact for students, faculty and visitors, coordinate donor relation communication, donor appeals, and CCF conferences and other events. This 19.5 hour per week position reports to the Director of the CCF and is located on the Ann Arbor, MI campus.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist students, faculty, and visitors with questions, forms, communication, and hospitality
  • Assist students with questions and forms
  • Coordinates donor relations and donor related communications
  • Assists Director with donor appeals, includes supplying information for website, Twitter and Facebook
  • Coordinates and attends CCF Executive Advisory Team meetings and CCF conferences, symposiums and other events
  • Research and prepare grant information for students, congregations, and district 
  • Responsible to order supplies, which includes gifts and donor material
  • Meet with director and other CCF staff weekly
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels both verbal and written
  • Ability to provide quality customer service in an efficient and effective manner
  • Knowledge of Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) and ability to follow

Education and Requirements

A high school diploma or GED and two years of administrative support experience is required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous work experience in an academic setting and/or with college-aged students is preferred. Knowledge of and association with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) and/or of Family ministry and organizations that support and promote Family Ministry in the U.S. is a plus for the successful candidate.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a part-time, staff, non-exempt position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Tuition benefits are available for employees; however, there are no other benefits associated with this position.
